Spirit’s owner, Lynette Gascoigne, has known the horse his entire 14-year life. Lynette’s father was a race horse trainer, and he trained both Spirit (Jockey Club name Snifters Spirit) and his mother, Snifter. But Snifter sadly died when her colt was only four months old. Lynette “made a silent promise to Snifter that when Spirit was done racing, she would take care of him forever.” That is exactly what happened when Spirit retired from racing in 2009 at the age of five. Rehab Vet Tech Talks about the Value of the Loop

Meredith Wille, LVT, CCRP, is passionate about many things in veterinary care, including emergency medicine and exotics, but her main focus is in rehabilitation and pain management. She works her magic at Pets in Harmony in Harmony, Pennsylvania, as well as Allegheney North Veterinary Hospital in Pittsburgh. It sure seems like one of her very favorite modalities is the Assisi Loop; “It is hard for people to really believe that this weird-looking little device is so beneficial. I mean, I was very skeptical when I first saw it,” she says. “And the truth is that if it wasn't part of my CCRP course, I'm not sure I would have believed it. Publication of Successful Results from an Independent Study Conducted at AMC-NY

Assisi Animal Health is pleased to share with the veterinary community, the publication of results by the Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association (JAAHA) from an independently conducted study. The trial was completed at The Animal Medical Center, New York, under the direction of Leilani Alvarez, DVM, DACVSMR. The trial, which evaluated the Assisi Loop® as the therapeutic agent, demonstrated statistically significant improved wound healing scores 6 weeks post-operatively. Of particular note is the nearly 50% reduced opioid use in the actively treated subjects. Read More
