How does the Assisi Loop Lounge™ Work?

The Assisi Loop Lounge incorporates the same technology used in the Assisi Loop® to deliver our patented tPEMF™ anti-inflammatory signal via a convenient therapy pad “Lounge” insert, designed to fit into your Sleepypod Air or Atom carrier.

How often can I expect to treat my pet with the Assisi Loop Lounge?

You should follow the instructions of your veterinary professional regarding how many times to treat your pet each day. Many veterinarians will suggest that you start with two-to-four 15-minute treatments per day for acute and chronic or degenerative conditions.

  • For acute conditions (such as post-surgical treatment or recovery from a trauma), we recommend that you follow the instructions of your veterinarian.  Many veterinarians will recommend that you continue 3 to 4 treatments per day for the first week or so and then taper off for the next 7 to 10 days or until the condition is fully healed.
  • For chronic or degenerative conditions, we recommend that you follow the instructions of your veterinarian.  Many veterinarians will recommend that you continue with 3 to 4 treatments per day for 7 to 10 days and monitor your pet until you see improved mobility and less pain response.  Upon improvement, many veterinarians suggest that you can taper down to 1 or 2 treatments per day or even 1 to 3 treatments per week.  Veterinarians find that with some chronic and degenerative conditions, the patient may get to the point that they would only be treated as needed for pain, particularly if it is a condition that is prone to flare-ups.

Ultimately, you want to consider that the Assisi Loop Lounge is working to reduce your pet’s inflammation on a cellular level while accelerating the body’s own healing properties.  We rely on veterinarians to assess your pet and to work with you on the best treatment protocols for your pet’s condition.

How soon will I see results?

Depending on the underlying condition, for acute inflammation, you should see noticeable relief after the first few treatments. With chronic or degenerative issues, you may not see notable results for two weeks or more. You’ll want to continue the treatments as recommended by your veterinarian for continued healing.

What do I do if my Assisi Loop Lounge stops working?

Please call or email Assisi Customer Service immediately if you suspect your device is not working properly. Our replacement policy seeks to minimize the interruption or loss of your pet’s tPEMF therapy as a result of equipment malfunctions. During the first year of use, if your Loop Lounge stops working because of a manufacturing defect or from damage in normal use, Assisi will replace the malfunctioning Loop Lounge component if it is returned to us. To ensure that your pet benefits from this service, you should register your new Assisi Loop Lounge on-line at https://www.assisianimalhealth.com/registration.

Is the Assisi Loop Lounge covered by pet health insurance?

As a prescribed veterinary medical device, the Assisi Loop Lounge therapy system may be covered by pet health insurance plans that also reimburse for prescription medications. Check your individual policy for confirmation.

Can I treat with the Assisi Loop Lounge while traveling, such as in my car?

Yes. The Loop Lounge is especially convenient for long trips. When used while traveling in a vehicle, you should follow Sleepypod’s instructions for safe use of your Sleepypod carrier, including properly securing the carrier with a seat belt.

Can I take my Sleepypod with my Assisi Loop Lounge System through TSA airport screening?

As with many other medical or electronic devices (e.g. a CPAP machine, your cell phone or your laptop) the Assisi Loop Lounge may be subject to TSA screening rules for carry-on items. You may have to remove the tPEMF Therapy Controller and place it in a bin and send it through the TSA scanner.

Can I operate my Assisi Loop Lounge while flying?

The use of therapeutic medical devices on board a commercial aircraft is subject to approval by the individual carriers. You should check with your airline before your journey about initiating Assisi Loop Lounge therapy while in flight.

Please note that the metal floor of the passenger cabin will significantly distract the signal when treating, thus rendering the treatment less effective. To receive the treatment’s full benefit while flying, treat with the carrier in your lap rather than under the seat.

Can I treat with the Assisi Loop Lounge while it is still plugged in and charging?

Yes, you can if either the 110v charge cord is plugged into a wall socket, or the optional 12V charge cord is plugged into a 12V receptacle in your vehicle.

Is there any pet that should not be treated with the Assisi Loop Lounge?

The Assisi Loop Lounge can be applied to any animal, regardless of species, with any inflammatory condition. The Assisi signal is safe for pets with seizures, epilepsy, cancer, and more.

The FDA recommends against using the human version of the Loop over tissue known to contain implanted electrical leads, such as pacemakers. As such, pets with pacemakers or other electrical lead systems should NOT be treated with the Assisi Loop Lounge.

Out of an abundance of caution, we do not recommend using the Assisi Loop Lounge for pets with hemangiosarcoma.


If I have a pacemaker or other electrical implant, can I safely carry or be near the Assisi Loop Lounge while it is operating?

If you have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, we recommend keeping a distance of at least six inches between your device and the Assisi Loop Lounge when treatment is operating.

Can I treat more than one pet at a time with the Assisi Loop Lounge?

Yes, as long as they fit comfortably and safely in the Sleepypod carrier and tolerate being together in such close quarters.

My pet left the Assisi Loop Lounge before treatment finished. Can I immediately treat it again for an additional 15-minute treatment?

If your pet received at least 10 minutes of treatment, you can wait until the next scheduled treatment cycle. However, if in doubt, there is no harm in initiating another partial or complete cycle.

What is the coverage area of the treatment for the Assisi Loop Lounge? Does my pet need to be lying down or sitting to receive full benefit?

This model of the Assisi Loop Lounge has been specifically designed for Sleepypod pet carriers. The effective treatment field for this Loop Lounge model covers the entire area defined by the bottom of the inside of the Sleepypod carrier. Its effective depth of field is designed to deliver therapy within the entirety of the carrier’s interior. As long as your pet is within the carrier, they are receiving treatment.

Do I need a Sleepypod carrier to use the Assisi Loop Lounge?

This model of the Assisi Loop Lounge has been designed for use with certain Sleepypod pet carriers.  Should you use this Assisi Loop Lounge as a stand-alone device, or in a different pet bed or carrier, these should contain no metal components (e.g.  door, frame, or floor) that could disrupt the patented Assisi signal and diminish product efficacy. If in doubt, please call Assisi Animal Health Customer Service.

How long will the battery last before I need to recharge?

A single, full charge is sufficient to complete 60 treatments.

What is the lifetime of the battery?

The battery for the Loop Lounge has a lifetime of four years before it needs to be returned to Assisi for replacement. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPEN THE CASE TO REPLACE THE BATTERIES.

I want to put a pee pad inside my carrier and over the Loop Lounge insert. Will this affect treatment?

If the pee pad contains any metal for stability or otherwise, the metal can reduce or distract the signal. Otherwise the treatment field can penetrate through the pee pad, delivering the full benefit of the therapy.

My pet spilled water/vomited/peed in the Sleepypod with the Assisi Loop Lounge therapy pad inserted. Will this affect the Assisi Loop Lounge components?

The operating components of the therapy pads once inserted inside the Sleepypod carrier are protected by the pad’s own moisture-proof foam material. However, the pads are not immersible. If pet fluids or other moisture should come in contact with the therapy pad, follow the cleaning instructions below.

How can I clean the therapy pad of the Assisi Loop Lounge System?

Carefully wash the affected surfaces with a soft brush dampened with soap and water to remove solid particulates and odors. Then follow up with a thorough wipe-down of the affected surfaces with 70% Isopropyl alcohol (typical rubbing alcohol). Clean with the power off and wait 15 minutes after cleaning before operating the unit. 

The Sleepypod plush liner is machine washable in accordance to Sleepypod’s care instructions.

My pet is chewing the wire/the wire is wet/my wire is compromised. Is this dangerous for my pet?

The Assisi Loop Lounge is powered by the internal battery in the tPEMF Controller Box, not by the electric current drawn from the wall outlet. The 12v current in the charge cord and within the Loop Lounge is harmless, should the wire insulation be damaged or pierced, by your pet or otherwise.

If there is an electrical short anywhere within the Loop Lounge system, the power from the Controller Box to the therapy pad will be shut down regardless of whether the controller box is plugged into an external power source.

My pet won’t stop chewing the wire, what can I do?

The cord from the pad and its cladding can safely be sprayed with commercial chewing deterrents for pets. 

I have a problem with a component or part of my Assisi Loop Lounge. Whom can I contact?
