What is included in the Calmer Canine® anxiety management system?
The Calmer Canine® anxiety management system consists of the Calmer Canine device and a comfortable, easy to wear, washable vest. The vest helps to hold the device in the correct position to allow for hands-free operation. The device is powered by a replaceable battery.
Does the dog feel anything, does it hurt?
No. The treatment has no sounds or vibrations and is invisible and sensation free. It is based on technology that has been cleared by the FDA for use in people.
Is it safe?
Yes. Calmer Canine® is very safe and much safer than medications, which can have unwanted side effects. This technology has been safely used to treat pain and inflammation in over 50,000 animals with virtually no reported side effects.
Calmer Canine should NOT be used in animals with implanted electromagnetic devices (e.g. pacemakers) and caution should be used by owners using the device if they have implanted devices, such as insulin pumps or pacemakers). Similar to the Assisi Loop products, Calmer Canine’s efficacy may be reduced by use of the device on or near a substantial amount of metal (such as in a metal crate or on a stainless steel table), or while using another electromagnetic device such as a laser.
How does Calmer Canine® work?
Calmer Canine® delivers low level electromagnetic signals to the fear and anxiety center located in the dog’s brain. It works on a cellular level, to reduce the factors that contribute to creating and sustaining anxiety in the brain. The technology returns the overactive anxious brain to a more balanced and calmer state. Unlike other solutions that must be continuously delivered to help, Calmer Canine is able to control anxiety between treatments and may have sustained effects that last long after a course of therapy has been completed.
